The International Senior Lawyers Project (ISLP) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and non-governmental organization founded in 2000.
Our mission is to mobilize pro bono legal support to social enterprises, civil society organizations, and governments across the Global South on matters that advance just, accountable, and inclusive economic development.
To respond to requests from partners, such as GrowthAfrica, ISLP mobilizes our international network of volunteer senior-level lawyers which includes prominent global and local law firms, retired and solo practitioners, and academics.
With a growing demand for legal support to social enterprises, over the past four years ISLP has provided legal assistance for more than 40 social enterprises across the Global South. Legal counsel has ranged from general corporate matters (including governance issues) to complex transactional matters (including the negotiation of equity and debt financings).
