Marieke is an investment director at Ascent Capital, based in Nairobi. She has 10 years of experience investing in and advising companies, mostly in emerging and frontier markets.

At Ascent, she is responsible for sourcing, analysing, and executing private equity transactions ($3-15m) as well as providing post-investment support to portfolio companies. She is also a non-executive director at Auto Springs. She has a background as strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company and experience in the entrepreneurial environment of Rocket Internet at Lazada Philippines. She holds a Masters in International Management (MiM) from CEMS and a MSc from Rotterdam School of Management.
