Dr. Aoki has been engaged in support of African entrepreneurs since 2012 in areas of digital fabrication and mechatronic engineering since 2012 in collaboration with Ghana FabLab.

He has joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya from 2019 and is engaged in research and education in engineering. He also hosts the Nakuja Project, which develops self-made rockets with students from all over Africa. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics of the University of Tokyo, Japan. He has also worked as a project research associate at Keio University, Japan.
